Morbidity of the elderly in Malaysia

The first table illustrates that morbidity is higher among female older persons whereas the elderly males (in Malaysia) have higher tendency to seek medical treatment compared to their female counterparts.

Table two shows mean of morbidities according to age group and sex in Malaysia.

Table three shows the mean of economic well-being according to number of morbidity.

The final results of the multiple regression analysis indicate that number of morbidity is the most negative significant variable towards economic well-being (Beta = -0.061), after Malay ethnicity (Beta = -0.142). The most positive significant variable is education (Beta 0.110).
